Do You Know the Ocean?
“We’ve got to get right down to the sea” - Jack Johnson
You take the girl out of Florida, but you can’t take Florida out of the girl.
I grew up surrounded by the beautiful St. Johns River and the Atlantic Ocean. I lived in the water and to this day, the beach is my ultimate happy place.
In fact, I was recently at Amelia Island and was enjoying lunch while watching the ocean. And it occurred to me, life is like swimming in the ocean.
If you understand the rhythm of the ocean, you can have the best time of your life riding waves. You can jump into them, swim under them, float on top of them. Even if the tide pulls you under on it’s way out, when you know how to stay calm and go limp - you’re fine.
But if you don’t understand how the ocean works… you could really be in for a terrible time. Waves will knock you down, you’ll get sand up your rear, water up your nose and if the tide gets you - you could literally panic and drown.
But here’s the thing…. The difference between the two experiences is not the ocean. It’s your ability to find the rhythm of the ocean and then work it to your advantage. When you know how to do it, it’s fun. When you don’t, it’s not.
I help people just like you learn the rhythms of their oceans so they know how to ride the waves so they can have a great time doing it.
Don’t let life get water up your nose. Learn how to work it.
